First – don’t panic. If the yellow check engine light comes on, it is usually there as a caution to you to go have your vehicle serviced and checked out soon. However, if it is red, we recommended to stop driving immediately and contact us for the best option to proceed.
The “Check Engine” light is widely over-loaded. It could be anything from your gas cap not having a good seal, to significant faults with the various components in the engine. If the fault is intermittent, the code will usually be stored, even if the light eventually goes out.
